Carlton County Animal Rescue became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2022. Our mission is to help pets in Carlton County reunite with their companions, find caring forever homes, and live healthier lives through adoption, education, and providing resources for people and pets.

While we work toward the goal of providing a shelter building, animals in rescue are being cared for through our foster program. In addition, CCAR is committed to providing resources to the community through microchipping events and various education opportunities.

Carlton County Animal Rescue officially purchased a 7.35 acre parcel of land, on the north end of Cloquet, on Highway 33, just south of the Cloquet Business Park. This property checks all the boxes that our building committee and board of directors have been searching for to build a local animal shelter!
